Mary R. (Sekowski) Wolanin

Mary R. (nee Sekowski) Wolanin, on Feb. 3, 2013 of Media formerly of Erie. Born in Gallitzin, Pa. on August 2, 1924, daughter of the late Antoni and Marya Rokowski. Mary was employed for twenty years at Gannon University as an executive secretary for the President, Msgr. Wilfrid J. Nash as well as the Academic Vice Presidents and retired in 1990. She was an honorary member of the Delta Zeta, Iota Gamma Sorority, secretarial advisor for Alliance College, member of Polish National Alliance Lodge 2205 and recording secretary for East Side Federation and its Sister City Program with Lublin, Poland. Survived by her beloved husband of 62 years Alfred J. Wolanin, Sr., her children Dr. Alfred J., Jr. (Mary Beth), Richard A. (Lorie), Mary Ann Desser (Daniel), Katherine J. Keyser (Gregory) and Dr. Casimir M. (Suzanne), her 13 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, her sisters Sr. Lydia Sekowski, CSFN, Wanda Nigborowicz and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Andrew and Joseph Sekowski and her sisters Antoinette Ulmaniec and Sabina Zolna and her grandson Todd Ankrom. Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Sat. February 16, 9:30-10:45 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass 11 a.m. at St. John Neumann Church, 380 Highland Lane Bryn Mawr, PA 19010. Interment will be private.
