Milton L. "Pete" McIntyre, 81, of Sciota Rd., Corry, Pa., died on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Corry Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 14, 1931, in Corry, Pa., a son of the late Merle J. and Bernice Briggs McIntyre. Pete was raised and educated in Corry, graduating from Corry High School in 1949. He then attended Bryant Stratton Business School in Buffalo and Erie Business School before serving in the U. S. Army in 1952. He served during the Korean War
and was stationed in Korea. Pete returned to Corry in 1954 and worked for Ruberoid in Erie for a few years before working at Lenton Manufacturing in Cleveland, Ohio, as a sales person. He then worked for Associated Spring-Barnes Group as a salesman for 25 years, retiring on July 1, 1992. After retirement, he volunteered his time to the American Cancer Society, Road to Recovery and transported people for Love, Inc. Pete was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Corry, the Corry Arts Council, serving as president for nine years, and was an incorporator for Corry Memorial Hospital, Relay for Life and Daffodil Days. He enjoyed ultra light aircrafts, antique cars, attending Thursday in the Park and helped organize Sunday in the Park. Pete was a loving uncle and enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Schneider. Pete is survived by his wife, Eleanor J. Ladd McIntyre, whom he married on October 26, 1957 in Corry, Pa.; a sister, Marlene McIntyre Baldwin and her husband Jeffrey of Middleburg, Va., and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call at the First United Methodist Church, 650 Worth St., Corry, Pa., on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service there at 11 a.m. Rev. John Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Regional Home Health and Hospice, 13675 Route 6, Corry, PA. 16407, or the First United Methodist Church, 650 Worth St., Corry, PA. 16407.
