Robert T. Gallagher, age 80, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the VA Medical Center. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 18, 1932, a son of the late Mary Gallagher.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy
during the Korean War
. He was the owner of Bob's Plumbing and Heating and later went on to own Shore Haven Campground and the Angelfish Haven Fish Store. Bob enjoyed camping, fishing and NASCAR.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Kershaw Gallagher in 2010; and two brothers, Leonard Berger and Michael Hilbert.
He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed by one daughter, Colleen Muenz and her husband, William; four sons, Robert Gallagher, Randy Gallagher and his wife, Donna, Thomas Gallagher and his wife, Sherrie and Timothy Gallagher and his companion, Patty; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Corey; and two brothers, Edwin Hilbert and George Hilbert. Bob is further survived by his companion, Margaret Ann Murray and her family.
Funeral services were private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were under the care of the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, PA 16504.
