Roger D. Chambers Sr.

Roger D. Chambers, Sr., age 56, of Erie, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 15, 2013. He was born February 1, 1957 in Erie, a son of Gerri Cleveland Chambers and the late Elmer "Porky" Chambers.

Roger was a graduate of East High School and a U.S. Navy veteran. He had previously owned and operated Mr. Floral Florists in Buffalo, N.Y. for over 20 years. Roger had also previously been a co-owner of the Valley Inn in McKean. Roger had also been employed by Potratz Floral and Greenhouses and Erie Molded Plastics. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and had a big heart for his pet cats, of which he gave many strays a good home.

In addition to his mother, Roger is survived by his life-partner of 33 years, Marc Straub; two sons, Roger Chambers, Jr. and Carl Chambers, both of Erie; three sisters, Cyndi Stronghart of Millcreek Twp., Bonnie Erdice (Larry) of Jamestown, Pa. and Tonya Moore (A.J.) of Millcreek Twp.; four grandchildren; one niece; three nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Family in care of the funeral Home.
