Tracey Ann Messenger Cook

Tracey Ann Messenger Cook, 41, of Findley Lake, N.Y., went to be with Our Lord on January 30, 2013, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born on March 26, 1971 in Corry, Pa., a daughter of Stewart A. Messenger of French Creek, N.Y., and Jackie A. Stull Hotchkiss of Corry, Pa. Tracey graduated from Corry Area High School in 1989. She was happily married to her husband, Mark Allen Cook, on May 29, 2004 in Cutting, N.Y. She worked at Wal-Mart for over ten years, until 2011, moving her way through the company from cashier to Co-manager of the Jamestown, N.Y. store. She previously worked for Peek N Peak for several years. Tracey loved her family and enjoyed spending all of her time with them. She enjoyed donating her time to the community, including working with several food banks in the local and outlying areas. Tracey also donated her time and skills to raise money for Children's Miracle Network and helping with local community and school projects throughout the years. She loved the holidays, cooking, baking and reading, but her greatest passion was her love and enjoyment she received from God, her husband and her five children. Tracey was preceded in death by her step-father, Lyle Hotchkiss. In addition to her husband, Mark, Tracey is survived by five children, twins Chandell and Shantell Nichols of Findley Lake and Ripley, N.Y.; Frank I. "Chance" Nichols of Spartansburg, Pa., Caragen N. Nichols and Cordell D. Nichols, both at home; and a grandson, Christopher L. Phelps, son of Shantell Nichols and Ryan Phelps. She is also survived by three brothers, Jeff S. Messenger and his wife Tiffany of Findley Lake, N.Y., Robert A. Messenger of French Creek, N.Y., and Pastor Jason L. Hotchkiss and his wife Sara of Erie, Pa. Tracey also has many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish her memory. Family and friends are invited to call at the Findley Lake United Methodist Church, North Rd., Findley Lake, N.Y., on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 2 p.m. Pastors "Nick" Nicholson, Brett R. Scarem and Jason L. Hotchkiss will officiate. Burial will be in Cutting Cemetery, Cutting, N.Y. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family c/o Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N.
