William G. Steadman

William G. Steadman, age 73, of Union City, died on Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Erie VA Medical Center.

He was born on March 10, 1941 in Spartansburg, Pa. to the late Albert and Alberta Olmstead Steadman.

William graduated Spartansburg High School and served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Union IBEW56, where he was an electrician and sign maker. He also owned and operated Greenbriar Golf Course in Union City. William was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. and enjoyed dirt track racing and shooting pool.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jo Ann Steadman; a brother, Clarence "Bud" Steadman; and a daughter, Jean Steadman.

He is survived by his children, Joni Mandus of Pittsburgh, Kathy Koszewski (William) of North East, Marlene Aulenbacher (William Jr. ) of North East, George Steadman (Gail) of Mississippi, Tina Steadman of California, and Donald Gilbertson of Erie; Sisters, Melissa Steadman Matters, Carol Gibbons, and Diana Lewis; a brother, Curtis Steadman (Kelly); grandchildren, Mark, Rachel, Olivia Mandus, Kaley Ziegler, Adam Koszewski, Jill Kimball, Alex Aulenbacher, Colleen Lance, and Ricky Gilbertson; great-grandchildren, Landon, Alexa, and Zoey Ziegler, John Gilbertson, and Anthony Cedar; also survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles Allen (Brenda) and Nancy Linkewitz (Ron).

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Monday 7-9 and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9, and are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Mark Hecht. Interment will be in Grahamville Cemetery, with Full Military Honors.
