William H. Loveland, Jr., 84, a resident of Colonial Terrace and formerly of Gamma Rd., Corry, Pa., died at the Corry Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Bill was born on February 8, 1928 in Corry, Pa., a son of the late William H. and Doris E. Beckwith Loveland, Sr. He was raised and educated in Corry, graduating from Corry High School in 1948. Bill had made the military his career, having served with the U.S. Navy
from 1946 until 1948 and the U. S. Air Force from 1949 until his retirement in 1975. He had resided in Corry since that time. Bill was a member of the VFW
Post #264 in Corry. As a career military man, Bill had friends all over the world. Three of his closest local pals were born in the same year and month as him, February 1928. All now deceased, they were George Fox, Fred Mitchell and Dick Clark. He enjoyed singing, traveling, reading and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Rosemarie Anna Hein Rapp Loveland, whom he married on May 10, 1954 in Bamberg, Germany, Bill is survived by a step-son, Peter Rapp and his wife Betti of Bamberg, Germany; four sisters, Naomi Eastman of North Carolina, Hazel Cox and her husband Alan, Beatrice Coulter and her husband Harry, and Judith Mitchell and her husband Norman, all of Corry, Pa.; and a brother, Robert Loveland and his wife Joan of Corry, Pa. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Werner Rapp and his wife Monika, Jurgen Rapp and Christiane Seidler and her husband Thomas all of Bamberg, Germany; two great-granddaughters, Anna-Lisa and Elena Rapp; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Family and friends may attend a memorial service at the Columbus Community Evangelical Church, 66 W. Main St., Columbus, Pa., on a day and time to be announced. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Columbus Community Evangelical Church, PO Box 288, Columbus, PA 16405.
