Wilma Sarabelle (Stafford) Bell, age 95, of Harborcreek, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014. She was born in Bloomfield Township, Crawford County, on March 8, 1918, daughter of the late Maurice and J. Berniece Mays Stafford.
Wilma was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Her church activities included being a member of Rebecca Circle, Keenagers, serving as co-president of The Women's Society, a district officer for The Methodist Women's Society, director of the Wesley Drama Group, and enjoyed doing the church bulletin boards for many years. She was also a member of Koinonia of Erie County, Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and Erie County and Pennsylvania State Retired Teachers
Wilma was a graduate of Edinboro College and received a B.S. in Education and a Master's of Education. Wilma was an elementary school teacher with Harbor Creek School district for 26 years, retiring in 1980. Prior to that, she taught in Wesleyville and Summit Township. For many summers, she taught vacation Bible School at programs in the Erie area and in many states. Wilma enjoyed sewing, crafts and cooking for her family.
Wilma is the widow of Wesley "Shorty" Bell.
Survivors include two sons, Atty. Kevin Bell (Darlene) of Carmel, Indiana and Dr. Blaine Bell (Claudia) of Erie; six grandchildren, Kristin Schultz (Justin), Ryan, Kerrie, Brittany, Jordan and Nicolas Bell; one great-grandson, Hudson Frederick Schultz; and three step-grandchildren Juliana Rudisel, Dylan and Danielle Garcia.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Further visitation will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service there at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev.
