"Avid Fisherman"

Dennis M. Brzozowski, age 69, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015, following a long illness. He was born on March 6, 1946, son of the late Theodore and Mary M. Amicucci Brzozowski. Dennis spent the last years of his life at Fairview Manor.

Dennis graduated from Tech High School in 1964 and served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, until being discharged in 1971. He worked at General Electric for 26 years before retiring in 1996. Dennis was a member of AA and proudly celebrated 29 years of sobriety. He was an avid fisherman, especially perch fishing, and was a regular card holder on the Edward John Perch Fishing Boat. Dennis was known on the boat as "DA-MAN," a title he was quite fond of having. He had many friends on the Edward John whom he enjoyed fishing with, including Woody, Chuckie, Joe, and the Nekoloff family. After catching a big perch, you could expect to hear his favorite saying "Fish on! Boomshuckalucka."

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Jackson Brzozowski, who passed away on March 18, 2000, after 30 years of marriage.

Survivors include a sister, Donna Bogdanski; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Joan Harayda; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd. on Sunday from 5 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 8 p.m., conducted by Rev. James Parkinson and Rev. John Scott of First United Methodist Church. Private interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
