I was so sorry to read of Mary's passing. Mary & I were friends way back in the 1940's when we both lived on W. 29th street. Back then when we wanted a friend to come out and play we would stand at their door and call them by name. We never knocked or rang a doorbell! I can still hear Mary when she came to our house as she called my sister and I to come out. We shared alot of sled riding days on Raspberry Hill and fun at the Perry School playground. There are so many memories of our early teens.
I still have the Christmas picture Mary sent of Kim and Mark when they were very young children, and I will always remember Mary's smile and that beautiful head of curly hair.
My sincere sympathy to her whole family. It was a wonderful tribute to her in the paper.
Sincerely,
Lois (Vogt) Askounes
