When I heard the news of John's passing, I was shocked to say the least as I had just spoke to him days earlier. He was a wonderful man & he will be sincerely missed by all those who knew him. May you find peace in the memories you have made with him, and may those memories give you the strength to go on until you meet again.

Ed and Ted,
Wow!!! Your dad, brother and the Reyburn's go way back. Glad to read Butch Garren's remembrance of racing the 18's. Ours was #6. Schuler's rarely lost.
It was with John that I completed my first full Interclub circuit on Bill Ambro's boat. Mom always kept tabs on John through Sunday church services. One of the highlights on my trips to Erie was running into John at the Yacht Club. That was my chance to find out what was going on in the Schuler family. Oh how he will be missed.

Dear Ed & Alex,
I am so sorry about the loss of your dad (dad-in-law). I wish that I could have visited but I had an injection in my back at Tri-State-Pain today. The first day I'm pretty much limited to staying home and using ice packs. A lot of people are going to miss him. He would have given you the shirt off his back if you needed it. I know that there were many times that he helped me (and my poor boating skills). He was a good person and will be very much missed by many. Ed, I'm sure you know this but you lost the best "helper" you'll ever find. I don't get to the club much but would like to see you two.
As always,
Mike Orelski

I am sorry for the loss of John's death. I was his neighbor growing up. Condolences to Ted and Mary Ann

My memories of John go as far back as when we were sailing teenagers. He and Ted sailed #8 and and My dad and I #9. Those were great days and both John and Ted were true friends. I just feel terrible about the loss of John. If the good Lord is willing, someday we will sail together again. I'm sure my Dad and John are enjoying a good sail and a beer right now like they had done so often. Fair winds and calm seas my good friend.
