1923 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
Angelo J. Caito, age 95, of Erie, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018, at St. Mary's Home at Asbury Ridge. He was born in Perry, New York, on March 6, 1923, a son of the late Anthony and Josephine (Maggio) Caito.

He served in the United States Army during World War II, in the South Pacific. He worked as a supervisor at the Erie Veterans Affairs Medical Center until his retirement. Angelo was a member of St. Paul Church. He was an avid bowler and bowled a 300 game in 1957, and enjoyed hunting and had a camp, traveling, casinos, entertaining and cooking with his wife. Angelo lived at Parkside for ten years and enjoyed playing poker with his friends there.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Rose M. (Pedano) Caito, a grandson, Ryan Wood, two sisters, Josephine Battaglia and Ida Kotlik and five brothers, Mike, Charlie, Ignatius, Joe and Fred Caito.

Angelo is survived by his daughters, JoAnn Tomczak, husband Ed of Erie and Linda Wood, husband Dave of Valrico, Florida, his grandchildren, Kim McMahon, Jason Tomczak, Heather Peckos, and Erik Wood, and his great-grandchildren, Christopher and Dylan Peckos, Zoe Tomczak and Owen McMahon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St., at Greengarden Blvd. A service will be held there on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Paul Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
