Angelo M. Geanous, age 72, of Erie, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the PA Soldiers & Sailors Home. He was born on January 2, 1941, in New Kensington, Pa., son of the late Menious G. and Ethel Patimithia Geanous.

A lifelong Erie resident, Angelo was employed as a cook at the Apollo Restaurant for ten years. He attended the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Angelo served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam War. Angelo especially enjoyed the annual Greek Festival.

Angelo is survived by two sisters, Mary Koucouthakis of South Bend, Ind. and Helen Zanikos of Astoria, N.Y.; two nephews, Mike Geanous (Kathy) of Millcreek and Pete Geanous of Harborcreek; a niece, Elizabeth Geanous of Harborcreek; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Gus and Byron Geanous; and two sisters, Faye Tzoumas and Julia Kalogeras.

Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Interment, Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Trisagion Services will be conducted Monday evening at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
