Anna Marie Rohan Shufran went home to the Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2012 surrounded by her family. She was the eldest daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary Knapik Rohan, born in Erie on November 29, 1926. She was a lifelong member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church and also a member of its baking group. Anna Marie graduated from Academy High School in 1944. She was a member of the Glenwood YMCA and worked for many years as a volunteer at the Erie County Diabetes Association. She enjoyed travelling with her husband, shopping trips with her daughters, and all family activities. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Rose Marie Rohan O'Neil. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Andy Shufran, whom she married on August 6, 1948. She was the loving mother of two daughters, Debra Shufran, companion Robert Troha, of Garfield Heights, Ohio, and Melanie Shufran, husband Ralph Edes, of Erie; a son, Andrew T. Shufran, wife Meg, of Erie; two grandsons, Nathan Shufran and Zachary Shufran, wife Stephanie; a brother, John Rohan, wife Judy, and nephews Joel, Kevin, and Adam Rohan; a sister, Kathy Allison, husband Bert, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and nephews Bernard and Herb Kieklak, and a niece Karen O'Donnell; a brother-in-law, Joseph, O'Neil, and nephews, Patrick and Jeffrey O'Neil, and niece, Erin Olson. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 until the time of Panachida services at 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard. Prayers for the Deceased will be held there on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Requiem of the Divine Liturgy at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 3415 Wallace St. Burial will follow at Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
