Beverly Mae Blystone, 91, died on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the home of her daughter after a long illness. She was born in Kane, Pa. on March 16, 1921 the daughter of the late Esther and John Flower. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Harry whom she married on December 18, 1944. Bev lived most of her life in Kane, Pa. where she worked for Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator for more than 20 years. She then worked at Stackpole Carbon until her retirement in 1983. Bev and Harry moved to Ocala, FL after retirement where she lived until 2004 when she moved to Erie, Pa. Beverly enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, knitting and ceramics. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Pittsburgh Pirates fan for most of her live. She was an animal lover and enjoyed the family dog, Mandy, her faithful friend throughout her final days. Bev is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Charles) Augustine, Erie, Pa.; a son, Jack (Betty) Blystone, Valparaiso, Fla.; her brother, Jack Flower, Erie, Pa.; four grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family wants to thank her caregivers (Fran, Stephanie, Brianna), Heartland Hospice (Beth, Jean), and special family friend, Kathy, for all of their love and support during the last several months. Friends may call at the Cummings Funeral Home, 151 Greeves St., Kane, Pa., on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Sam Marchetta, Chaplain at Heartland Hospice, officiating. Burial will be private at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Kane, Pa.
