Bruce F. Palmer Obituary
Bruce F. Palmer passed away peacefully at home, on August 10, 2018, after a seven-week diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

He was born May 3, 1952, the only child of the late Clinton and Lavina Eller Palmer of Elgin, Pa.

He was a graduate of Corry High School, class of 1970, and attended classes at Edinboro University. He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Church for nearly 30 years.

He was a living example of physical fitness, having worked out for over 40 years. His hobbies included jogging and taking classes at LECOM Wellness Center since it opened in 2009. He completed the Pittsburgh half marathon in 2014 with his daughter, Lindsay. He was a regular donor of the Erie Community Blood Bank for 23 years, having donated more than 12 gallons of blood through the 2RBC program. He was also very fond of craft beer and enjoyed visiting many different brew pubs when he traveled.

In 1976, Bruce began his career with Prudential Insurance and then began his own insurance and investment business. The last sixteen years, he partnered with his son, Michael and formed Palmer Financial, LLC., which is now his legacy.

He had a passion for the radio business his entire life that began during his teen years from his first job at WOTR in Corry, Pa. To the present day, he could easily name the call letters of most major radio stations across the country.

Bruce loved his family and friends unconditionally. Many clients became lifelong friends during his forty-year career. The number of heartfelt cards and letters he received during his brief illness are a testament to the character of the wonderful man he was.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Beth, his son Michael, his daughter Lindsay, his daughter-in-law Michelle, his grandsons Brady and Bennett Palmer, his uncle Louis Eller, and many cousins.

A special thank you from the family is extended to the VNA Hospice team for their care and compassion.

Friends and family may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St., at Greengarden Blvd. A celebration of life mass will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 2801 West 6th St. Private interment will be held at a later date for the family.

The family respectfully declines flowers. Bruce requested any charitable donations go to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at pancan.org or 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
