Carol Benyon Gorr, 76, of Erie and formerly of Cider Mill Apartments, died Monday morning, December 3, 2012 at Forestview Skilled Nursing Facility. A resident of Erie most of her life, she was born in Oil City, Pa. on July 21, 1936, a daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth Statham Benyon. Carol was a 1954 graduate of Millcreek High School and went on to work for many years with Medical Surgical Associates, before retiring in 1997. She enjoyed ceramics and will always be remembered for her unconditional love and devotion to her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Benyon and Lillian King; and two brothers, James R. and John T. Benyon. Survivors include one daughter, Christine Kramer and her husband Jeffrey of Mendon, N.Y.; her grandson, who was the light of her life, Samuel Kramer; one brother, George W. Benyon of Erie; two sisters, Kathryn Jean Benyon and Marian Boyce, both of Erie; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Patty, Val, and A.J.
