Delphine Corritore Arduini, age 99, passed away on December 30, 2012 at Saint Mary's Home at Asbury Ridge. A lifelong resident of Erie, Pa., she was born on March 1, 1913. She was a daughter of the late Sebastiano and Rose (Chilelli) Corritore and step-daughter of the late Palmina Corritore. Delphine had worked at Mayer Brothers as well as several other locations throughout the Erie area. Her proudest employment was working as the Property Manager of Northview Heights Apartments where she remained for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of Saint Patrick's Church and the Erie Maennerchor Club's Ladies Auxiliary. She prided herself in living independently until recently. Family was very important to Delphine. She loved retelling stories about her family and life experiences and passing them on to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Delphine was a very talented, creative and self-taught dress designer who enjoyed making beautifully crafted dresses for special occasions. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent "Jimmy" Arduini, her daughter, Norene (Arduini) Miller, her granddaughter Debra (Szymanowski) McIntosh, her brothers; Sam (Dorothy), Paul, and Arthur (Jenny) Corritore, and her son-in-law, Edward Szymanowski . Delphine is survived by her sister, Virginia (Corritore) Bruno and a sister-in-law Betty (DeLuca) Corritore, as well as her son, Lawrence Arduini and his wife Donna of North Palm Beach, Florida, a daughter, Gloria (Arduini) Szymanowski, and a son-in-law William E. Miller, both of Erie. Grandchildren include Gary Miller (fiancée Dena Tavinello), Ronald (Jan) Miller of Greensburg, PA, Sally (Chet) Donikowski, Michele (Jim) Hubert, Michael (Charlene) Szymanowski, Diane (Sam) Johnson, Marguerite Szymanowski, Chris Arduini, and Carla (Brian) Welch and three step-grandchildren Cheryl, Ronald, and Michael Joseph. Delphine also had 15 great grandchildren; Rose (Chris) Cortes, Erica Szymanowski, Joseph (Nicole) McIntosh, Jeremy (Cheryl) McIntosh, Matthew (Laura) Johnson, Patrick Johnson, Chad and Lauryn Donikowski, Lexie, Katie, and Andrew Miller, Kaleigh and Meaghan Hubert and Maria and Grace Welch. Two step great grandchildren; Aaron (Robin) Johnson and Abe (Cherri) Johnson. She also had five great-great grandchildren; Karle, Sophia and Selena Cortes, and Alyssa and Grayson McIntosh, and seven step great-great grandchildren; Ezekiel, Karis, Boaz and Ahava Johnson, Kaia and Shay Johnson, and Crystal Joseph as well as many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Saint Mary's Home at Asbury Ridge for their care and support. Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Home, Pine Ave. Branch, 845 East 38th Street, on Thursday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there at 10:15 a.m. on Friday followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Patrick Church, with Msgr. Kriegel officiating. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Saint Mary's Home at Asbury Ridge, 4855 West Ridge Road, Erie, PA 16506.
