Dennis Charles Murphy, age 44, of Erie, formerly of North East died on Friday April 19, 2013 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on April 30, 1968 to Charles E. Murphy of North East and the late Betty L. Easton Murphy. He was a veteran of the Desert Storm War serving in the United States Marine Corp. Dennis was known for his "smile" and enjoyed camping and woodworking. He will be sadly missed by many friends of Bill W. In addition to his father, he is survived by his children Christen Murphy and David Murphy both of Denver, Colo.; a grandson, Aiden Murphy; fiancé; Barb Juskewycz of Erie; sisters, Marian Ruggiero (Carmen) of Erie, Virginia L. MacDonald of Erie, and Rebecca Murphy of Erie; brothers, Steven Murphy and Gerald Murphy both of North East, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service, Rev. David Kuchta. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Lost touch with Charlie about 25 yrs ago.We used to hang out after meetings just riding around,hittin the coffee shops.He was a fun guy to be around.He seemed to make friends everywhere he went.My prayers are with the family.

he was the father of my children. we were together for almost 15years, and even though it didnt work out with us we were friends off and on. He had a good many friends and he was a very likable guy. I am sorry he had to leave just when things were getting back on track for him, he is dearly missed by his family and children.
