Loving Wife and "Great Mom" DeSales Marie Ryan Palkovic, age 82, passed away Monday afternoon November 12, 2012 at the Ball Pavilion. She resided in Erie with her husband of 61 years John P. Palkovic. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA September 29, 1930, daughter of the late James P. and Marie Rechtenwald Ryan. In addition to her husband John, she is survived by three sons: John Palkovic and his wife, Judi of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Michael Palkovic of Newington, Colo. and Tim Palkovic and his wife, Robin of Harbor Creek Twp., Pa. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Rachael and David Palkovic. She was preceded in death by a son, James Palkovic and an infant brother. Dee was a longtime member of Holy Family R. C. Church. She worked at the Erie General Electric, then in the kitchen at Holy Family School. She then worked at Sears for over 20 years as an administrator in the payroll department, retiring in 1992. She was a volunteer in Erie City youth sports working for Boy's Little League Baseball and Erie Little Gridders. She enjoyed reading and traveling but her greatest passion was as a strong advocate for her three sons. Friends may call at the Mark G. Razanauskas Funeral Home, 701 East Avenue, Erie Thursday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. where a prayer service will be conducted Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Mary Queen of Peace Mausoleum.
