Diane Carr McQueen Obituary
Diane Carr McQueen, 68, of Erie, transitioned on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Erie, Pa., on April 11, 1950. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Carr, Sr. and Mary Ellen Unions Carr.

She worked in Quality Assessment at UPMC Hamot for 44 years. She enjoyed singing, cooking, being an avid Walmart Shopper, going to the casino, hosting gatherings at her house, and being around kids. She was very active in her church (House of Prayer), and was a member of Abigail Chapter #22 (O.E.S), Sequoyah Court #39, H.O.J. and M.E.T Carroll Assembly #62 (O.G.C.) Pharoah Court #196 (D.O.I.). She served on the kitchen committee, mother board (House of Prayer) and many other positions.

Survivors include three daughters, Mimi Carr of Torrence, Calif., Sonya Carr of Chesapeake, Va., Chennelle McQueen of Erie, Pa., three sons, Rashee McLaurin, Sr. (Olivia) of Cleveland, Ohio, Rason McLaurin and Ronald Wiggins, both of Erie, Pa., five brothers, Arthur Carr and Oscar Carr both of Phoenix, Ariz., J.C. Corder, James Phillips, Andre Carr all of Erie, Pa., three sisters Hattie Mae Johnson, Evelyn Carr, and Marlynn Coles (Rev. Michael Coles) all of Erie, Pa. Additional survivors include her stepmother, Ruby Carr, of Erie, Pa., her grandchildren, Don Junae, Dai'toine, Raniya, Vaquarrie, Sequoyah, Rashee, Jr., Shadyea, Shadeea, Mikael, Jasmine, Brittany, Trimarkoh, Destiny, many aunts, uncles, great aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie James McQueen in 2006, four brothers, Willie Carr, Eddie Carr, Donald Ginnery, Richard Lockett and three sisters, Johnnie Mae Bryant, Barbara J. Grayson, and Georgia Corder.

Relatives and friends may call at the House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 155 East 21st Street, Erie, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be on Saturday, from 10:00 until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Coles officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
