Donald E. Lorei, age 87, formerly of Waterford, Pa., died Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013, at Pleasant Ridge Manor East. He was born in Erie, September 27th, 1926, a son of the late Frederick and Amelia Sabaski Lorei.
Don was an Army
Veteran of World War II
. He had been employed as a truck driver for Penn Beer, Erie Brewery and Kraus Electric. He retired from Uniflow Manufacturing where he worked in the stock room and maintenance. He was a member of the American Legion Carl Neff Post in Wesleyville. Don was an avid baseball fan, especially the Detroit Tigers.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Arlington; his brothers and sister, Martha Tatara, Clarence, Harold "Doc," and Raymond Lorei.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Frances L. Hosmer Lorei; his five children, Linda Upton (Jerome) of Erie, Greg Arlington of Erie, Dale Arlington (Patricia) of Erie, Mark Lorei of Ripley, N.Y. and Roger Lorei (Tracy) of Erie. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, LLP, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th St. Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend services at the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. James McCormick officiating. Burial in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
