Edward J "Ed" Stolarski, age 84, of Millcreek, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012, at UPMC Hamot, after a short illness. Born in Erie on November 18, 1928, he was a son of the late Frank J. and Mary (Levandowski) Stolarski. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty (Brown) Stolarski; a son, Atty. Edward J. Stolarski, Jr., wife Patricia; daughter, Elaine Hewett, husband David; and three grandchildren, Kevin, Julia and Bridget Stolarski. He is further survived by two sisters, Helen DePalma, of Lake Placid, Fla., and Jean Walkiewicz, of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Bernard Stolarski, wife Nellie, of Erie. Ed was employed at Hammermill Paper Company for 42 years, retiring in 1991. He served in the U.S. Army Alaska Command at the end of WW II. He served as an usher at Saint George Church, where he was a faithful parishioner for 60 years. He enjoyed cross-stitching, crafts, and feeding his birds, along with taking care of his grand-dogs, Putter & Chipper. Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, and may attend a prayer service there Thursday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint George Church at 10 o'clock.
