Eric H. Jarvi Obituary
Eric H. Jarvi, 58, of Girard, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Conneaut, Ohio to the late Vernon N.C. and Mary Jane Patterson Jarvi on July 15, 1954. Eric graduated from Northwestern High School in the class of 1972. He was athletically gifted and enjoyed playing football, baseball, softball, horseshoes and darts. He held the West County dart championship belt for many years. He loved cooking, barbecuing, hunting, and fishing. He also took a keen interest in American history and current events. Eric was a diehard Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan. Eric was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 381 in Albion. He worked for the local 603 laborers union. He had certifications in hazardous material extraction, pipe fitting, masonry and scaffolding. In addition to his parents, Eric was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Joseph Kaputa II. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Sherry Kaputa Jarvi, whom he married on October 31, 1992, in Girard. He will also be missed by his daughter Terry Mook of Girard; his sister Margaret R. Jarvi of Conneaut, Ohio; two brothers Vernon N. Jarvi of Boiling Springs, N.C., and Mathew M. Jarvi of West Springfield; his two grandchildren Kyle Mihalak and Brady Mook; his mother-in-law Sally Palo of Girard; his brother-in-law Joseph Kaputa and his wife Diane of Girard; his sister-in-law Diane Watters and her husband Brian of Girard; and three nephews Michael and Benjamin Jarvi, and Joseph Kaputa. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard.
