Ethel Irene Porter Obituary
Ethel Irene Porter, 83, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at Brevillier Village after a period of declining health. Ethel was born on February 13, 1935, in Erie, the daughter of Kenneth Spears and Adolphia Baumgardner Spears.

Throughout the years, she worked at various area restaurants as a waitress and short-order cook. She was a longtime Jehovah's Witness who was associated with the Asbury Heights congregation. On March 17, 1951, Ethel married her husband Stuart Rowland Porter. She had a beautiful voice and loved music.

She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away on April 15, 2003; daughter, Judy Dahl; son, Christopher Porter; sister, June Lynn; brother, Donald Spears; and sister, Shirley Spears.

Survivors include: daughter, Jeanine Stiver and her husband, M. Kenneth of Martin, Ga.; daughter, Janice Porter of Sacramento, Calif.; daughter, Cherie Sheldon and her husband John of Erie; son, Steven Porter and his wife, Diane of Fairview; son, Dean Porter of Winston-Salem, N.C.; son Keith Porter of Erie; brother, Kenneth Spears and his wife, Toni of Michigan; sister, Janet McFee of Chicago; brother, James Spears and his wife, Carla of Florida; sister Susan Syphert and her husband, Mark of Northeast, Pa.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
