Leo's Hauling Gary "Leo" DeVitto, 63, of Erie, died Saturday evening November 24, 2012 at his residence following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. A resident of Erie most of his life he was born in Beaver Falls, Pa. on May 23, 1949 a son of the late Angelo "Cab" and Mary Kay Kolodick DeVitto. Gary was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School. He went on to work as a meat inspector with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 31 years and was owner of Leo's Hauling. He was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club, Sunflower Club, Moose Lodge East, and the American Legion Carl Neff Post. He enjoyed golfing, Nascar, going on cruises, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and especially riding his John Deere tractor. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Vicki Zearfoss DeVitto; his children, Angie DeVitto (Chuck) and Angelo DeVitto of Erie; Greg DeVitto and his wife Michelle of Adrian, Mich., Kelly Pisano and her husband Rob of Beaver, Pa., and Doug Devitto (Renee) of Scranton, Pa.; one sister, Beverly DeVitto of Fla., one brother, Daniel Miller of Beaver Falls, Pa.; six grandchildren, Mathew, Paige, Logan, Nicko, Michael, Dante, and one granddaughter on the way; his granddog, Bentley; a lifetime friend, Frank Longo and his wife Rose of Erie; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, on Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Services will be held Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
