Georgia Brady Fiolek, age 77, of Greene Twp., passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at St. Mary's Home of Erie. She was born in Montgomery Twp., Pa. on May 26, 1935, daughter of the late George and Mary Wilson Brady. She had resided in Erie most of her life. Georgia was a graduate of Harbor Creek High School in 1953 and Hamot School of Nursing. She was an operating room nurse with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center for 18 years until her retirement in 1997. After retirement, she served at Sisters of Mercy and Sisters of St. Joseph Infirmaries. Prior to working for the VAMC, she worked at Hamot Hospital for 22 years as well as the Shriner's Hospital. She was a member of St. Boniface R.C. Church and an Associate to the Sisters of St. Joseph. She was a lifetime member and past president of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Ladies Guild and the Hamot School of Nursing Alumni Assn. She enjoyed crafting and was a long-time volunteer at the Erie Playhouse. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Steve J. Fiolek; two sisters, Marjorie Brady and Nellie Ball; and three brothers, Gerald, Ralph and Phillip Brady. Survived by one daughter, Geri Ann Hadlock of Lawrence Park; one son, Frank Fiolek of Erie; one sister, Bonnie Brady of Erie; two brothers, Daniel Brady (Margaret) and Donald "Joe" Brady (Debbie) all of Harborcreek; five grandchildren, Courtney Soder, Leah, John and Travis Hadlock, and Makayla Fiolek; one great-grandson, Jayden Hadlock; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Thursday at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist R.C.
