Gloria Swanson Sul Conners, age 87, of Erie, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Erie Presbyterian Lodge. She was born in Erie on May 6, 1925, daughter of the late Lewis and Emma Johnson Swanson. Gloria graduated from Harbor Creek High School, and worked for many years as a waitress. She was an active member of St. James Roman Catholic Church, and was a member of American Legion, Carl Neff Post 571. Gloria had diabetes for 64 years and enjoyed crocheting, gardening and playing cards. Gloria was preceded in death by her first husband, Alex Sul, and her second husband, John Conners; a son, John Conners, Jr.; a brother, Donald Swanson and granddaughter, Kim Gnacinski. She is survived by six children, James Sul, Robert Sul, Sandie Cirillo (husband Patsy), Richard Conners (wife Debra), Patricia Majeski (husband Robert) and Robert Conners (Helenna); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also survived by her special lifelong friend, Russ Hughes. Gloria was being cared for at home by her granddaughter, Cindy Schneelock and great-granddaughter, Nicole Schneelock. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Monday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Tuesday at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. James McCormick, Pastor, St. James R.C. Church. Interment, Trinity Cemetery.
