Gordon "Bummy" Bissell, age 76, of North East, died Friday, December 7, 2012 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on March 11, 1936 in Erie, Pa. to the late Howard and Reta Camp Bissell. Gordon owned and operated "Camp Farm" in North East. He was a longtime member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, in North East. He enjoyed woodworking, playing piano, fishing, hunting and being outdoors. In addition to his parents, Gordon is preceded in death by a daughter, Melodie Bissell and a son, Daniel Miller. Gordon is survived by his wife of 28 years, Eleanor Chapin Miller Bissell, whom he married February 10, 1984; sons, Ron Bissell and Tony Bissell, both of North East; stepsons, David Miller and wife Cindy, Charles Miller and wife Billy Jo, Robert Miller, William Miller, and Frank Miller, all of North East; stepdaughters, Norma Wick and husband Mike of North East and Patricia Moore of Erie; brother, Murray Bissell of North East; a dear family friend, Penny Luke; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also many friends. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Sunday 7-9 and Monday 2-4 and 7-9, and are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday at 11 a.m., at the funeral home.
