Hattie C. Russell, 59, 502 E. 24th St., 2nd Floor, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012 at UPMC Hamot after an extended illness. She was born in Shubuta, Miss. on February 15, 1953, daughter of the late Milliner Russell and Mary Ruth Hollingsworth Russell. She was a resident of Erie for 42 years. She attended Gannon University where she majored in Accounting. She was employed at the Erie Home for Children and Adults where she was a Personal Care Aide and had previously worked at Entech Plastics, North Coast Plastics and Safe Haven Day Care. Hattie enjoyed working with the elderly and small children. She loved her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Hollingsworth Rhodes and an aunt, Mildred Myles, both in 2012. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Tamika Russell of Erie; four sisters, Edith Russell and Ceola Russell, both of Erie; Rosemary Nelson and husband Fred of Shubuta, Miss. and Bertha Kimbrough of Meridian, Miss.; three grandchildren, Darius, Shamika and Demesha Russell; three great-grandchildren; several aunts and uncle and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Law Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave. A service will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. George Davis, Jr. of God's House of Prayer, officiating. Interment in Erie Cemetery.
