Ida Amendola, age 97 of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Chicago, Ill., May 23, 1915, a daughter of the late Battista and Angelina (Guatano) Amendola. Ida was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church. Her husband, Salvio F. Amendola, preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Lester and Arnold Amendola, a daughter, Doris Tiblandi, three brothers, William, Alfred and Albert Amendola and three sisters, Lena Alo, Virginia Bonante and Irene Chojnacki. Survivors include a son, Roger Amendola and his wife Maureen of Ashburn, Va.; three daughters, Elginia Reichard, Elisa Alice Amendola and Anita Amendola all of Erie; a sister, Eleanor Nordin of Erie, nineteen grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren on the way. Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street, Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
