James C. Dahlkemper Obituary
James C. Dahlkemper, age 80, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013, at Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin, Vermont. James was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on January 4, 1933, the son of the late Christopher and Edna (Biebel) Dahlkemper. He attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Erie Cathedral Prep. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Army. Jim was very active in youth sports through the years. He was a life member of East Erie Turners and was a member of the Mercyhurst Prep Athletic Board and Saint Peter Cathedral Church Board. He was a partner of Dahlkemper Landscape Company, with his brother Charles, for over 50 years and helped to renovate the Potter's Field Cemetery in Girard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin granddaughters, Nicole and Sarah LaGue. He is survived by his wife, Roberta "Bobbie" (Camp) Dahlkemper; two daughters, Erica Baughman, of North Carolina, and Renee LaGue and husband Randy, of Berlin, Vermont; two sons J.C Dahlkemper, and R. Campy Dahlkemper and wife Cindi both of Erie; eight grandchildren: Katie and Kelly Dahlkemper, Zachary, Allyson, and Annika LaGue, Karly, Estefani and Erik Baughman; two sisters, Nancy Forish and husband Robert, and Marlene Squeglia, both of Erie; three brothers, Jerome and wife Joyce, and Charles, wife Mary, both of Erie, and Christopher, of Richmond, Va. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, and may attend a prayer service there Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Peter Cathedral at 10 o'clock.
