James C. Schodt, age 56, a 26 year resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born on May 3, 1956 in Erie, Pa. to Herman and Mildred (Loichinger) Schodt. Jim graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and retired in May 2012 after a 35 year career with JC Penney. He enjoyed spending time with his family in Ruidoso and Red River, N.M. and visiting Pennsylvania to watch the sunset over Lake Erie. Jim is survived by his mother Mildred of Erie, Pa.; his dear Aunt Madeline Schodt of Erie, Pa.; his wife of 22 years Patti (Pilch); his daughter Kaitlyn and son David, both of Albuquerque. He also leaves behind his sister Kathleen Schodt (Roger Drewes) of Hockessin, Del.; brother Ed (Brenda) Schodt of Brighton, Colo.; and sister Marilyn Schodt of Niwot, Colo.; "Aunt Pat" Bryington of Gifford, Pa.; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and his faithful dog, Buttons. He was preceded in death by his father Herman in 1994. Friends may visit French â€" Lomas on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 3 p.m. Cremains will be buried at a later date in Erie, Pa.
