James H. Reid, age 79, of Erie, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, at UPMC Hamot. Born June 13, 1933, in Buffalo, New York, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Catherine (Henry) Reid, and was a graduate of St. Lawrence University. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia (Bykowski) Reid, along with his daughter, Robin McCormick, husband James, of Erie, and his sons, James D. Reid, wife Catherine, of Beaver, Pa., and Jason R. Reid, wife Shannon, of Erie. He is further survived by his beloved grandchildren, Megan and Benjamin Reid, of Beaver, Pa. Jim served in the U.S. Army at Schweinfurt, Germany. He was self-employed as the owner and operator of J.H. Reid Company. An avid golfer, he was the former captain of the League of Lower Lakes. Jim was a die-hard Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabers fan. He cherished time spent with all his family at home as well as at the lake house.
