Jean Olow Sawicki, age 95, formerly of Erie, residing in Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Akron City Hospital. She was born in Erie on May 18, 1917, daughter of the late Benjamin and Maranna Olow. Jean was a member of Mount Calvary R.C. Church and their Senior Citizens Group, St. James Senior Citizens, and the Senior Center at 4th and Peach Streets. She enjoyed gardening and playing pinochle. Jean is survived by her daughter-in-law, Donna Sawicki of Erie; three nieces, Sandy Reagan Oler (Jack) of Akron, Ohio, who was her caregiver, Kathleen Reagan (Ray Normoyle) of Stuart, Fla., and Laurie Smith of Erie; one nephew, William Reagan, Sr. (Kathleen) of Waterford, Pa.; three great-nephews, Jack Oler, Jr. (Michela) of Akron, Ohio, David Oler of St. Louis, Mo. and William Reagan, Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; one great-great-niece, Avington Oler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Sawicki; her son, Dennis W. Sawicki; one brother Stanley Olow; and one sister, Mary Reagan. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road, on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Mount Calvary R.C.
