Joan S. (McLisky) Heidt, age 92, of Erie, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at the Golden Living Center-Western Reserve. She was born July 23, 1920 in Auckland, New Zealand, the daughter of the late George and Ann Ada Dray McLisky. A longtime resident of Erie, Joan had worked at the PA Soldiers' and Sailors' Home and later at the Erie Maennerchor club. She was a former member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Heidt. Joan is survived by her children; Gregory Heidt and his wife Carolyn of Erie; Heidi Zipperi and her husband Thomas, Jr. of Erie; and Roberta Preble and her husband Thomas of Eureka, Calif. She is the grandmother of Matthew Veres (Megan); John Robert Veres; Emily Iannacchione (Peter); Elizabeth Fegert (Jeremy); Andrew Heidt and Abby Heidt, and is the sister of Terry McLisky of Christ Church, New Zealand. There will be no visitation. Private services, with burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, were held at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ascera Care Hospice, 1600 Peninsula Dr., Erie, PA 16505 or to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 130 W. 8th St., Erie, PA 16501. Arrangements were handled by the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th and Liberty St.
