John S. Rzodkiewicz, age 59, of Summit Township, passed away unexpectedly, at Presque Isle State Park, on Sunday, September 2, 2018.

He was born on April 11, 1959, a son of the late Henry P. and Irene M. Jaraczewski Rzodkiewicz.

John attended St. Stanislaus School and was a 1977 graduate of St. John Kanty Prep. He worked for over 28 years for the Pennsylvania State Liquor Stores, obtaining the level of manager for various stores throughout northwestern Pennsylvania. Additionally, for six years, he worked as northwestern Pennsylvania representative of the UFCW Local 23. He recently returned to his long time position within the Pennsylvania State Liquor Stores. John was an avid Ohio State fan, seldom missing a game. He read many of Mark Twain's publications, enjoying both his wit and style. John loved collecting old time black and white movies, with Casablanca being his absolute favorite. He had a passion for fishing, and participated for many years in tournaments for the French Creek Bass Masters, who awarded him "Angler of the Year" in 1998.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a dear friend, Casmir Kania.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Darlene D. Sayre Rzodkiewicz, and his children, Johne "Punky" and Lacey Rzodkiewicz, and Linda Kloss Morrison. John is further survived by his brother, Steven (Debbie) Rzodkiewicz, and sister, Carol Rzodkiewicz, as well as his niece, Emily (Chris) Young and nephew, Michael Rzodkiewicz.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd., Erie, on Saturday, September 8th from 4 p.m. until the time of life blessing at 6 p.m., with Rev. Christopher Wrobel as celebrant.
