Never Give Up On The Ones You Love Joshua T. Shaffer, 25, a resident of Union City, died unexpectedly Friday evening, February 22, 2013, at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Erie, November 1, 1987, son of Darell and Tammy Zazado Steenrod and Franklin T. Shaffer. He attended Union City High School enjoying hunting and fishing and was a member of the Union City VFW. Survivors include his parents, step father and one son, Joshua Aiden Shaffer of New Cumberland, Pa.; one daughter, Hailey Marie Shaffer of Jamestown, N.Y.; two brothers, Daniel and Justin Campbell of Union City; one sister, Jamie Shaffer of Illinois; one step sister, Danielle Steenrod; one step brother, Scott Steenrod, both of Union City. Joshua is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Dolores Petrilla and his paternal grandfather, Donald Steenrod and his step grandfather, Jim Watral, all of Union City, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Joshua was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Franklin Petrilla and his paternal grandmother, Georgia Steenrod. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the C.S. Warthman Funeral Home, 69 N. Main Street, Union City. A service will be held there Thursday morning at 11 a.m.
