Keith A. Sauers, age 58, of Erie, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013, at Presque Isle Nursing and Rehab Center, following a lengthy illness. He was born March 29, 1954 in Erie, son of the late Clement and Clarise Dietz Sauers. He had lived in Erie his entire life. Keith was a 1972 graduate of the former Tech Memorial High School. He had been employed for over 30 years by Erie Bronze and Aluminum. Keith was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed participating in local cruise-ins with his 1970 Chevy Chevelle. He was known affectionately as the "Burn-out King." In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by one brother, Denny Sauers and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Reich. Survivors include his beloved wife of 19 years, Melissa M. Reich Sauers; three sons, Michael S. Sauers (Nikki), Craig A. Sauers (Jess) and Timothy "T.J." Sauers, all of Erie; three sisters, Jackie Kinnear (Sam) of Erie, Pamela Carmosino (Nino) of Erie and Betsy Sauers (Lori) of Erie; three brothers, Ronald Sauers (Eilleen), David Sauers (Linda) and Mark Sauers, all of Erie; six grandchildren, Dominic, Madison, Deven, Doneven, Drew and Marley; his father-in-law, Ronald J. Reich of Erie; two brothers-in-law, Rob Reich (Melody Littlefield) of Erie and Ron Reich (Sheila) of Dayton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet cats, Mimi and Lucy. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and are invited to attend the Funeral Service there on Thursday, at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Samuel Marchetta. Private interment will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of the funeral home.
