Lewis "Lewie" John Luke, age 61, of North East, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on January 1, 1952 in Erie, to the late Wilson Vern and Marion Barbara Phanco Luke and graduated North East High School in 1970. Lewie attended the Assembly of God Church in North East and owned and operated a grape farm, in North East, for over 40 years. He was also employed with the North East School District, as a school bus driver, for 39 years. He enjoyed golfing, farming, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Lewie is survived by his wife of 40 years Cynthia "Cindy" Burnham Luke; a daughter, Stacy Swan and husband Michael of North East; a son Trevor Luke and wife Christina of North East; grandchildren, Isaiah, Lydia, Anna, Josiah, Keziah, Ellie and Ethan; brothers, Wayne Luke and wife Gerry and Gordon Luke and wife Joyce both of North East. John 13:34-35 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake St., North East, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday, at 11 a.m., at North East Assembly of God Church, 2025 Orchard Beach Rd., North East. Officiating will be Rev. Troy Keith and the Rev. Gerald Olshevski. Interment will be in North East Cemetery.
