Louis Bill, 98, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at Fairview Manor. He was born Aug. 16, 1914, in Syracuse, N.Y., son of Joseph and Jennie Bill. He moved to Erie in September 1998. He served in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the DAV. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Sassano Bill, one sister Mary Jane Bill, four brothers John Pilla, Carmen Pilla, Robert Bill and Donald Bill. Survivors include a son Robert Bill (Sacramento, Calif.), daughter Patricia Shores (Ebbie), three grandsons Ebbie Shores, Corry Shores (Gulben), Brandon Shores (Amee) and one great-grandson Austin Shores. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by family, friends and all whose heart he touched. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Dec. 18, 2012, at Our Lady of Pompei Church in Syracuse, N.Y. and was officiated by his cousin Monsignor Ronald Bill. Entombment was at Woodlawn Cemetery.
