Madeline Ann Loper, age 91, of Erie, passed away on December 29, 2012 at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born in Erie on November 28, 1921, daughter of the late Philip and Sophie Pfister Schafer. Madeline worked at St. Mary's Home, Erie Resistor, Boston Store, Lynn's Clothing Store (as Assistant Manager) and for 19 years at Buffalo Molding. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and garage sales. Madeline was a former, longtime resident of the Ostrow Apartments. Madeline is survived by two daughters, Dawn M. Julius (David) of Erie, and Nancy A. Unger (William) of Waterford; four grandchildren, Hallie, Daniel, Darren and Christopher; eleven great-grandchildren, Kayla, James, Amber, Tori, Darren, Karena, Jeremy, Nicole, Kameron, Hannah and Logan; four great-great-grandchildren, Katerina, Mackenzie, Miguel and Wyatt; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Madeline was preceded in death by seven sisters, Amelia, Calista, Cyrilla, Marion, Florence, Loretta and Doris; two brothers, George and Wilbur; one grandson, Donald Kaiser; and one great-great-grandson, Justin Kaiser.
