Margaret L. Chapin Miller Morey Obituary

Margaret L. Chapin Miller Morey, age 75, of Erie, formerly of North East, died on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at home.

She was born on May 24, 1940, in Erie, Pa., to the late Norman and Grace Phillips Chapin.

Margaret was formerly employed at La Castro Plastics in Erie, Pet Foods Inc. in North East, Petersons Property Maintenance, and Kohl's Department Store.

She was a member of the Park United Methodist Church in North East and the Wesleyville American Legion Post 571.

Margaret enjoyed bowling, country line-dancing, NASCAR races (especially #24 Jeff Gordon), the Casino, the Dallas Cowboys, and collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Miller Jr.; sons, Tom Miller and Clyde Miller III; and a sister, Eleanor Bissell.

Margaret is survived by her second husband of 12 years, Perry Morey, whom she married on July 18, 2003; sons, Gale Miller (Nancy), of North East and Henry C. Miller (Faith), of Erie; daughters, Glenda A. Deah (Ronald), of North East, Christine A. Luke (Todd), of North East, and Barbara S. Miller, of Erie; sisters, Alice Jean Hainley, of Hollidaysburg, Pa. and Virginia Hagan (Bud), of Girard; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Robert Bartlett (Shirley), of Harborcreek; and also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Officiating the service is Rev. Eric C. Leonard. Interment will be held at Wales Cemetery.
