Margaret M. "Peg" Kolaja Obituary
Margaret M. "Peg" Kolaja, 89, of Hatchtown Rd., Spartansburg, Pa., died Monday, July 9, 2018, at Guardian Elder Care, Titusville, Pa.

She was born April 2, 1929, in Sparta Township, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Satterlee Obert.

Peg was raised and educated in Sparta Township and graduated from Sparta High School in 1947. Following her marriage to Charles Kolaja, her main priority became caring for her family and home. Later, she became a school bus driver for the Corry Area School District in the Spartansburg area for several years.

She was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Corry and Immaculate Conception Mageetown Church in Centerville, Pa. Peg was involved with the Cursillo Program. She was a member of the Friendly Neighbors Club and enjoyed flower gardening, caring for her yard and being outdoors.

In addition to her parents, Peg was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Kolaja on March 16, 1991; her second husband, Jack Smith; a daughter, Joan F. Kolaja; and two brothers, Charles and Milo Obert.

Peg is survived by a daughter, Pamela Rasey and her husband Troy of Spartansburg, Pa.; two sons, Mark Kolaja and his wife Diane of Spartansburg, Pa. and Kurt Kolaja and his wife Elise of Chestertown, Md.; and a sister, Janet Rowan and her husband Henry of Spartansburg, Pa.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours held.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 203 W. Washington St., Corry, Pa., on Monday at 11 a.m. Rev. Thomas Suppa will officiate, assisted by Deacon William Saborsky.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Spartansburg, Pa.
