Margaret Marie Hakel Bleil, age 94, of Harborcreek, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Ball Pavilion at Brevillier Village. She was born in Erie on January 9, 1918 a daughter of the late John and Augusta Brucker Hakel who came over from Germany. Margaret was a graduate of Academy High School. She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Lawrence Park and previously of St. James, Sacred Heart and St. Joseph's all of Erie. She enjoyed listening to music, cooking, watching game shows, gardening and playing cards. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Bleil (USN), a granddaughter, Dawn Marie Ditrich, two sisters, Anna Hakel and Agnes Russell, five brothers, Msgr. Joseph Hakel, VF and Frank, Carl, Ernest and Herman Hakel who died as an infant. Margaret is survived by three daughters, Jeanne Zmijewski and her husband Leo of Erie, Judith Ditrich and her husband Norman of Humble, Texas and Margaret (Marge) Bleil of Erie. Eight grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call on Sunday at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc. 2502 Sassafras St. Erie, Pa. 16502 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at St. Mark the Evangelist Church at 10 a.m. with Msgr.
