Loving Husband, Wonderful Father

Mark E. Bukowski, age 69, of Erie, and formerly of Pleasanton, California, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, after a long and valiant battle with Parkinson's Disease with Lewy Body Dementia. He was born in Erie, on July 23, 1949, a son of the late Edward J. and Anna (Zausen) Bukowski.

Mark graduated from Gannon University with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

In 1981, he moved to Pleasanton, California to work for Spectrum Control. Then, in 1993, he founded CFMC Global and provided electronic components to the government and gaming industries.

Mark was an active member at Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at Gannon. He enjoyed baseball and volunteered as a board member and coach of the Pleasanton Little League and Girls Softball. Mark also coached CYO basketball.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Sanfratello.

Mark is survived by his wife of 43 years, Candice "Candy" (Buchanan) Bukowski; his children, Mary Bukowski of Boise, Idaho and Daniel Bukowski of Dallas, Texas; his sisters, Susan Zimmer and Christine Sanfratello; his brothers-in-law, William Buchanan (Marge) and Jay Buchanan (Elaine); his sisters-in-law, Sandra Foster (David), Ellen Hoffmeister (Ned) and Jane Ross (Derek); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends are invited to call at St. Patrick Church, 130 East 4th Street, on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 9 a.m. until a funeral mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Brugger Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street, is handling arrangements.

The family wishes to thank the loving staff at St. Mary's Home of Erie, especially the third-floor team and physical therapy team, for their wonderful care. They surrounded Mark with love and care during his two-year stay. Also, thank you to the wonderful friends and family who visited daily and brightened his life.

Special needs education was important to Mark, as was his nephew Thomas who attends the Bancroft School. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bancroft School, Attn.
