Mary Elizabeth Smith Cada, age 82, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born May 4, 1930, a daughter of the late Marie and Charles Smith. May was a meat wrapper for Western Provision Meat Market, for many years, and later worked for Quality Markets, where she was known as "the donut lady." She loved gardening and going to the casino. Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband William "Jack" Cada; two granddaughters, Michelle Cambra and Sara Ciano; two sisters, Rosemary Trojanovich and Dorthy Cieslak; and a son-in-law, Michael Ciano. Survivors include her two daughters, Jackie Carne Ciano and Jean Cambra, husband John; three grandchildren, Stacey Ciano Woodard, Jack Cambra (Amber), and Brian Cambra (Stephanie); eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mary is further survived by her very dear friend and companion, Paul DiFuccia, Sr., and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, and are invited to a Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 10 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th Street. Burial will be private at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
