Matthew F. Woloszyn, age 86, of Millcreek, passed away Friday, November 23rd, 2012 at his residence. He was born November 27, 1925 in Oil City a son of late Frank and Aniela Woloszyn. Matthew was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving our country during World War II where he was awarded two bronze stars as well as the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal. He worked for many years in warehouse distribution at General Electric before his retirement. He was an avid bowler that participated in many leagues over the years. He also enjoyed horseshoes and golfing. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Evelyn Giglio Woloszyn, on July 1, 2011 and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly Jay, husband Andrew, of Millcreek; two granddaughters, Amanda and Kristina Jay; and a step-grandson, Andrew Lemmon. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street and may attend services there on Wednesday at 1 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Luke Church at 1:30 p.m. Interment at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
