Molly Irene Day (Dobrzynski) Rogowski

1927 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
Molly Irene Day (Dobrzynski) Rogowski Obituary
Molly Irene (Dobrzynski) Day Rogowski, age 91, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at Manchester Commons. Molly was born Irene Frances Dobrzynski, in Erie, Pa., on March 9, 1927. Molly was the daughter of the late Ignatius and Alexandria (Zukowski) Dobrzynski, and the stepdaughter of the late Clara (Konkel) Dobrzynski, who raised her.

At the age of 17, Molly joined the Benedictine Sisters, as Sr. Maria. She earned her teaching degree and worked for 22 years teaching for the Benedictine Sisters. After that, Molly taught school for the Erie School District for another 22 years. After a total of 44 years as a beloved teacher, Molly retired. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her husband Richard. Molly said her holy rosary two to three times a day. She prayed for those in need of God's healing strength. Mostly, though, Molly prayed for one day to be reunited with her Lord and beloved, Richard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Rogowski; and her sister, Dorothy (Dobrzynski) Rogowski.

She is survived by her two beloved "baby" brothers, Donald Day, wife Ann, of Appleton, Wis. and Eugene Dobrzynski, wife Mary Ann, of Fairview; four stepchildren, Daniel R. Rogowski, Paul Rogowski, Debbie Haibach and Susan Kolljeski, six grandchildren, Nathan, Christine, Adam, Anthony, Timothy and Jamie; one great-grandson, Alan.

Molly's family wishes to extend a special "thank you" to her caregivers and the staff at Manchester Commons, for their compassion and care.

Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 W. 38th St., at Greengarden Blvd., on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m., and are invited to attend a funeral Mass at Holy Cross Church, 7100 West Ridge Rd., on Monday at 11 a.m., followed by entombment in the west mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery.
