Paul Henry Taylor, 97, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at his residence in North East, Pa. He was born on September 14, 1915 in Fredonia, New York a son of the late Walter W. and Emma A. Gollnitz Taylor. Prior to his retirement, Paul was General Manager and Salesman for the former Keystone Foods in North East. While at Keystone Foods he originated the idea of scheduling for grapes during harvest season. He was a member of Park United Methodist Church, North East, where he sang in the choir for many years. He served on the Board of Directors of the North East School District for 12 years, was chairman of the North East Community Chest and the Red Cross Fund Drives. Paul enjoyed working in his wood shop and in his yard. He was a Boy Scout Master in Girard and North East for many years. Paul was vice principal and taught school in Girard for three years before enlisting in the Army during WWII having served in the Pacific Theater. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma J. Taylor in 2009 and one son, Kent B. Taylor in 2007. Paul is survived by one son, Kirk Taylor, and his wife Diane of Naples, Fla. and one daughter, Paula J. Daum and her husband William of Birmingham, Ala. Also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, 92 S. Lake St., North East, Pa. on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend funeral services there on Saturday at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Mark E. Hecht will officiate.
